I have scanned various fonts online and cannot find a good match for this book font, which I love.  If I find something that matches the d, it doesn't match the g, or the l (lower case L).  It seems that Random House may have used their own proprietary font, but I'd like to come as close as possible.  Any Suggestions?

Perhaps Ionic No. 5 or another of the Legibility Group, Corona?

Thanks!  I'll check it out.  Didn't know there was such a thing as the "Legibility Group" but it makes sense.

The more I look at samples of Ionic and Corona, they are only similar.

It may very well  be something created custom for this publisher. Here’s an article about dictionary type that you might find interesting.
