Basic serif font, something I've used a hundred times before ... I just can't place it and am having no luck finding something to match. Thank you in advance for your assistance.

A Clarendon, perhaps? Still compairing it to my library.

You’ve got the general style—definitely a Clarendon in spirit.

 

Appears to be Ionic No. 5, digitized by Monotype under that name and by Bitsteram as News 701.
